Sakeenah is a personal companion for an intentional spiritual life. These terms are the agreement between you and Sakeenah when you use the app or this website. They sit alongside the Privacy Policy, which explains how information is handled. Please read both. If you do not agree, do not create an account and do not use the service.
The agreement
By creating an account, using the Sakeenah app, or using sakeenah.live (including the waitlist), you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
If you use Sakeenah on behalf of someone else, you confirm you have permission to do so. If you are under 13, do not create an account.
Who we are
These terms are for Sakeenah, a guided Islamic app, and the website at sakeenah.live. Questions about these terms can be sent to rehansattar117@gmail.com.
The service
Sakeenah offers Pathways, Moments, and Spaces such as dhikr, journaling, counters, and related tools for a calm spiritual practice.
We may add, change, or pause a feature as the product grows. Some parts of the website may be marked as coming later. The app and website are provided as they are available at the time you use them.
Your account
Signed-in parts of the app need an account. You agree to use an email you can access, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
One person, one account. Do not share your sign-in, and do not use someone else's account.
What stays on your device
Journals, reflections, most counters, walk progress, and honesty answers stay on your phone, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for your phone's lock screen, and for clearing that data in Settings if you want it gone from the device.
Deleting your account removes the account fields we hold. It does not, by itself, erase data on a phone you no longer have.
Acceptable use
Sakeenah is for personal spiritual practice. You agree to use it with care for other people and for the service.
- Use the app and website for your own practice
- Do not break the law, harass anyone, or try to enter another person's account
- Do not scrape, copy, or resell the app, Pathways, or Moments as your own product
- Do not interfere with the app, the website, or the people using them
- Do not send unlawful material through any part of the service we provide
Teaching, not a fatwa
Pathways, Moments, verses, and Qasida Burda are teaching content to support your walk. They are not a personal fatwa, and they are not a substitute for a qualified scholar.
Sakeenah is not medical, mental health, or legal advice. If you are in danger, or you need professional care, please seek that help.
Your writing
What you write in journals and reflections is yours. We do not ask you to give us ownership of it. Most of that writing never leaves the device, as the Privacy Policy describes.
Our content
The app, its design, and original Sakeenah writing belong to Sakeenah or are used with permission. Please do not copy the product and present it as your own.
The Qur'an, hadith, and classical texts we quote are not our property. We present them for worship and learning.
Notifications and location
Reminders and location are optional. You can turn reminder types off in Settings, and you can deny location or notification permission on your phone. The rest of the app still works.
This website and the waitlist
If you join the waitlist or newsletter, you agree that we may email you about Sakeenah. You can unsubscribe at any time. The Privacy Policy explains what that form collects.
Ending your account
You may delete your account at sakeenah.live/delete-account, or from Settings in the app. Deletion removes the account fields we hold, including email, display name, pathway names begun, reminder settings, notification token, and lifetime salawat total. It cannot be undone.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that we reasonably believe is being misused.
Availability
We work to keep Sakeenah available. We do not promise that it will always be uninterrupted, or that every feature will remain. Maintenance, updates, and events outside our control can affect access.
Disclaimer
Sakeenah is a spiritual companion. We do not guarantee a particular outcome in your worship, character, or life. Use what you learn with care, and check matters of fiqh with someone qualified when you need a ruling.
Limits
To the extent the law allows, Sakeenah is not liable for loss that comes from using the app or website, from being unable to use them, or from treating teaching content as personal religious, medical, or legal advice.
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the law where you live.
Children
Sakeenah is not directed at children under 13. Do not create an account if you are under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will help remove it.
Changes
If these terms change, we will update this page with a new date. If you keep using Sakeenah after that date, you accept the updated terms. If a change is material, we will also note it in the app where we reasonably can.
Privacy
How we handle information is explained in the Privacy Policy at sakeenah.live/privacy. That policy is part of using Sakeenah, together with these terms.
